Packing Materials

You will need some of the suggested materials below before you pack. Look around; try to use things you already have to avoid making unnecessary purchases.

• Various sized boxes
  Start collecting them early. It is better to have more than not enough, and it’s surprising how many you will actually need. Before purchasing boxes, ask around at different stores; many times they will be happy to give them to you.
• Box stuffing
  Newspapers, paper towels, bubble wrap, etc. Anything to keep your breakables safe before you put them into a box. Again, start collecting now; you may need more than you think!
• Packing tape
  Make sure you have enough to tape the tops and bottoms of some of the larger and more flimsy boxes to ensure they do not fall apart.
• Trash bags
  Not only for trash, bags are helpful for little things and last minute items, like pillows, throw blankets and clothing. Use clear bags to easily identify the bag’s contents when unpacking.
• Permanent markers and masking tape
  Label each and every box or bag to identify both the contents and which room it belongs in. This is extremely helpful when you’re unpacking.
